Appointments <br /> <br />1. Consideration of appointment to the Community Schools Coordinating <br />Committee <br /> <br />Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Mr. Obie, that Molly Stafford, <br />1060 Madison, Eugene, be appointed to the Community Schools <br />Coordinating Committee, term to expire January 1, 1986. Roll <br />call vote; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />H. Announcements <br /> <br />1. February 15, 1983, Budget Committee Meeting <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager David Whitlow reminded councilors of the Budget Committee <br />meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m. on February 15, 1983. He said this quarterly <br />budget report would involve a presentation from the public safety group. <br /> <br />2. National Crime Prevention Week <br /> <br />Mr. Whitlow announced that this was National Crime Prevention Week. He noted <br />that the City of Eugene and Lane County were involved in a number of crime <br />prevention programs, including the Neighborhood Watch program. He said that <br />there had been a 13 percent decrease in major crimes in Eugene in the past year <br />and that this could be attributed, at least in part, to crime prevention efforts. <br /> <br />II. Consideration of City Council minutes of December 15, 1982; and <br />January 19, 1983; and Legislative Subcommittee minutes of January 27, <br />1983 (minutes distributed) <br /> <br />Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Mr. Obie, to approve the City Council <br />minutes of December 15, 1983.
