Ms. Smith said <br /> that she understands the recommendation as stated in the report summary is to <br /> have the City Council approve the report and direct the City Manager and advisory <br /> groups to pursue the recommendations. She added that the council will not be <br /> locked into any of the recommendations, but that it is giving direction to staff <br /> to pursue the recommendations. <br /> Ms. Wooten moved, seconded by Mr. Hansen, that the City Council <br /> accept the Vagrancy Task Force fi nal recommendati ons wi th di rec- <br /> tion to the Ci ty Manager and the staff to pursue impl ementation <br /> strategies in the future. The motion passed unanimously, 5:0. <br /> Ms. Wooten stated that she would appreciate the staff maintaining contact with <br /> the ACLU as the strategies are pursued so as not to preempt or to act inappro- <br /> pri ately. He said the rezoning request concerns approximately 12 acres of vacant <br /> property located at the northeast corner of Greenacres Road and Delta Highway. <br /> He said the surrounding property includes the Eugene Sand and Gravel operation <br /> to the west across Delta Highway, the Delta Pines Mobile Home Subdivision to the <br /> north, vacant property zoned R-2/PD to the east, and the Delta Oaks Shopping <br /> Center developed with Jafco and GI Joe's. Mr. Jacobson said the Planning <br /> Commission unanimously recommended approval on July 19, 1983, with a site review <br /> suffix to address noi se reducti on from the sand and gravel operation and to <br /> address the issue of access points from Delta Highway and Greenacres Road. He <br /> said that Ms. Mulder of the Planning Commission was available to answer any <br /> questions. <br /> There were no statements of ex parte contacts or confl icts of interest.
