The <br /> e motion carried unanimously, 7:0. <br /> Ms. Smith stated that she looked forward to attending the Friday dinner session <br /> for the Council Goals Session. <br /> C. Scheduling of Discussion on Job Training Centers <br /> Mayor Keller asked that the meeting scheduled to discuss combining the job <br /> training centers be postponed due to a scheduling conflict. <br /> D. Request for Location of Donald Duck Wristwatch <br /> Councilor Hansen stated that he had been asked by Mayor John Lively and one of <br /> the city councilors of Springfield to ask Mayor Keller for the location of a <br /> Donald Duck wristwatch belonging to the City of Eugene. Mayor Keller stated <br /> that the watch was in his possession. <br /> E. Visit by Chinese Delegation <br /> Mayor Keller stated that a nine-person People's Friendship delegation from <br /> Fujian, China, will be visiting Eugene on July 16 and 17 as part of their trip <br /> to Oregon. He explained that a group of Lane County residents had visited China <br /> several months ago and that the Chinese delegation was in response to that <br /> visit. He stated that a dinner will be held for the delegation and he encour- <br /> aged the councilors to attend. The leader of the delegation will be Wen Fushan, <br /> e President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship. Secretary General <br /> You, Director of the Office of Foreign Affairs for that province, will also be a <br /> member of the delegation. Mayor Keller stated that he will keep the council <br /> informed of any additional information received. <br /> F. Announcements <br /> 1. Rescheduling of City Council Dinner/Work Session <br /> City Manager Micheal Gleason stated that he wished to reschedule the council <br /> dinner/work session from July 9 to July 23 at 5 p.m., at which time a discussion <br /> with the Eugene Water & Electric Board is tentatively scheduled. <br /> 2. Scheduling of Economic Development Goals Session <br /> Mr. Micheal Gleason suggested that the Economic Development Goals Session as <br /> requested by the City Council at its June 18 meeting be scheduled for July 16 at <br /> 5:30 p.m. Councilor Wooten stated that she would be out of town that day. <br /> Mr. Gleason responded that staff will determine another date for the session. <br /> e <br /> MINUTES--Eugene City Council June 20, 1984 Page 2 <br />
