<br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Eugene City Council <br />City Council Chamber <br /> <br />January 9, 1985 <br />11 :55 a.m. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: Ruth Bascom, Debra Ehrman, Dick Hansen, Freeman Holmer, <br />Jeff Miller, Roger Rutan, Emily Schue, Cynthia Wooten. <br /> <br />Adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon, was <br />called to order by His Honor Mayor Brian B. Obie. <br /> <br />I. ITEMS FROM MAYOR AND COUNCILORS, APPOINTMENTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, AGENDA <br />ADJ USTMENTS <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />A. Jefferson Pool Replacement Study <br /> <br />Councilor Wooten reported that the WNQP was presenting a request to the Joint <br />Parks Committee and to the Community Development Committee for funding to <br />study the feasibility of replacing Jefferson Pool as suggested by the <br />Aquatics Committee. <br /> <br />B. Oregon Association of Regional Councils <br /> <br />Councilor Schue announced that on January 11,1985, she will be made Presi- <br />dent of the Oregon Association of Regional Councils through the Lane Council <br />of Governments. She stated that this association may have some bearing on <br />financial matters before the State Legislature. <br /> <br />C. Remarks by Councilors <br /> <br />Councilors Holmer, Ehrman, and Miller expressed their feelings of satis- <br />faction at being members of the City Council. Ms. Ehrman wished the council <br />and the others present a Happy New Year. <br /> <br />D. Movement of Public Access Television Operations <br /> <br />Councilor Hansen announced that the Cable Commission had decided to move the <br />operations of the Public Access channel to Lane Council of Governments. He <br />said the commission was reviewing the contract with Group W Television and <br />was particularly concerned with continued funding for the Public Educational <br />Government channel. He said he will keep the council informed of any pro- <br />gress on the issue. <br /> <br />E. Comments on Swearing-In Ceremony <br /> <br />Councilor Bascom said she appreciated the efforts of those individuals who <br />supported having the Swearing-In ceremony in the Silva Concert Hall, stating <br />that the ceremony went very well.
