Obie <br /> 1. ITEMS FROM MAYOR AND COUNCIL, APPOINTMENTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, AGENDA <br /> ADJUSTMENTS <br /> A. Carnival Equipment <br /> Councilor Miller asked for a staff report about the safety of eouipment at <br /> carnival s. <br />e B. Neighborhood Clean-up Projects <br /> Councilor Ehrman noted there will be neighborhood clean-up projects in the <br /> next few weeks. She encouraged citizens to take part in them. She sai d the <br /> 7-11 Corporation has contributed to the projects. <br /> C. Hi ghway Si gns <br /> Councilor Hansen had been told that friends of a Eugenean had trouble judging <br /> the distance from the California border to Eugene because of the lack of signs <br /> indicating the distance to Eugene. He suggested the Oregon Department of <br /> Highways be contacted about signs on the highways. He said they should be put <br /> up even if the City has to pay for them. <br /> Councilor Schue thought the State Highway Department had agreed to put up <br /> signs about Eugene. <br /> Mr. Gleason said he would check out this issue and report back. <br /> D. Wall Street Journal Article <br /> Council Rutan said the recent Wall Street Journal article has had a positive <br /> effect and has spurred interest in Eugene.
