<br />~ <br />.' <br /> M I NUT E S <br />e Eugene City Council <br /> 0lNei11 Room, Eugene Conference Center <br /> July 10, 1985 <br /> Noon <br /> COUNCILORS PRESENT: Cynthia Wooten, Richard Hansen, Emily Schue, Freeman <br /> Holmer, Ruth Bascom, Debra Ehrman, Roger Rutan, Jeff <br /> Mill er. <br /> The adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon, was <br /> called to order by His Honor Mayor Brian B. Obie. <br /> I. DISCUSSION OF EUGENE AGENDA <br /> A. Introductions and Opening Remarks <br /> Mayor Obie welcomed members of the City.s boards, committees, and commis- <br /> sions. He said it was the first time all members of City boards, committees, <br /> and commissions had been invited to meet with the City Council as a group. In <br /> addition, the neighborhood leaders and the Metropolitan Partnership Board of <br />e Directors were present. Mayor Obie said the people in the room affect the <br /> lives of Eugeneans daily because of their membership in City organizations. <br /> Mayor Obie introduced the City councilors. <br /> Mayor Obie said the purpose of the meeting was to provide information and get <br /> feedback about the Eugene Agenda. He said those present would help to refine <br /> the Eugene Agenda and to formulate the proposal that will probably be pre- <br /> sented to the community in November. The City councilors will attend about 40 <br /> other meetings during the next month to learn the desires and wisdom of the <br /> community. <br /> A direct-mail brochure titled liThe Eugene Agenda" and a Eugene Agenda Feedback <br /> form had been put at each place. Mayor Obie asked each person to fill out the <br /> feedback form and leave it at the table. <br /> Reviewing the format that would be followed, Mayor Obie said a City Councilor <br /> or City staff member at each table had been designated to lead a discussion of <br /> the projects in the Eugene Agenda and methods of financing them. He asked the <br /> people at each table to prioritize the projects and recommend a way of financ- <br /> ing them by consensus. He noted that individual opinions would be reflected <br /> on the feedback forms. A staff member was present at each table to record the <br /> decisions. <br /> Mayor Obie introduced Barbara Bell amy and Rosemary Pryor who had arranged the <br /> lunch and meeting. <br />. <br /> MINUTES--Eugene City Council July 10, 1985 Page 1 <br />
