ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 21-17-08 <br />of the <br />City Manager <br />APPOINTING KATHRYN BROTHERTON AS THE CITY'S ACTING IN <br />CAPACITY CITY ATTORNEY. <br />The City Manager of the City of Eugene finds that: <br />A. Under the provisions of Chapter IV, Section 1.6 of the Eugene Charter of 2002, the <br />City Manager is designated as the administrative head of the City, and is specifically authorized <br />to appoint and remove all employees (except as otherwise provided in the Charter), and to enforce <br />all ordinances of the City. <br />B. City Attorney Glenn Klein will retire effective November 30, 2017 at midnight and, <br />therefore, it is necessary to appoint an Acting in Capacity (AIC) City Attorney until a permanent <br />City Attorney can be appointed. <br />C. Kathryn Brotherton is the Deputy City Attorney and should be appointed as AIC <br />City Attorney. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Manager of the City of Eugene orders and directs <br />that: <br />1. Kathryn Brotherton is designated as AIC City Attorney effective December 1, 2017 <br />at 12:01 a.m. <br />2.
