<br />e <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />Eugene City Council <br />McNutt Room--Eugene City Hall <br /> <br />April 29, 1992 <br />11:30 a.m. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: Bobby Green, Ruth Bascom, Debra Ehrman, Randy MacDonald, <br />Paul Nicholson, Kaye Robinette. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS ABSENT: Shawn Boles, Roger Rutan. <br /> <br />The adjourned meeting of April 27, 1992, of the Eugene City Council was <br />called to order by His Honor Mayor Jeff Miller. <br /> <br />I. ITEMS FROM THE MAYOR, CITY COUNCIL, AND CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />A. Centro Latino Americano <br /> <br />Ms. Ehrman called attention to correspondence from Centro Latino Americano <br />(formerly Chicano Affairs Center) requesting that the City donate old <br />~ equipment that is usually auctioned off. <br /> <br />City Manager Mike Gleason said that the City cannot give things away, unless <br />the council has a policy of doing so as a public service. Staff will follow <br />up. <br /> <br />B. Barrier Awareness Day <br />Mr. Green announced Barrier Awareness Day, May 7. <br /> <br />C. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program <br /> <br />Mr. Green reported on the Human Rights Committee on Accessibility's public <br />hearing on the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program. He noted <br />that the committee held small, informal meetings with interested parties <br />prior to the hearing. A summary of the testimony is forthcoming for the <br />council's deliberation on May 14. <br /> <br />D.
