County land-Use Public HearinQ
e Mayor Miller said the County has asked for the council's input regarding land-
use issues, at a joint public hearing on December 9, at 7 p.m. in Harris Hall.
Representatives from both cities and the county must be present. Ms. Ehrman
added that the group should take action that evening. City Attorney Glen
Klein confirmed that the decision must be made by those participating in the
hearing. Mayor Miller asked that information on the hearing be disseminated
prior to the hearing date.
At Mayor Miller's request, Jan Childs, Planning Division Manager, said that of
the two issues to be heard that evening, one is a Metro Plan amendment that
came to the joint elected officials when the council was hearing the Industri-
al Land Study for the Moorehead property. She said one of the reasons for
wanting to dispense with the issue is the concern expressed by joint officials
about the delay. Ms. Childs added that the council will be receiving from the
Planning Commission the unanimous recommendation for the Metro Plan amendment.
She said the issues are relatively straightforward and the council should be
able to take action that evening.
The other issue to be heard that evening has to do amendments to the Metro
Plan amendment process. Ms. Childs said that item could be postponed until
after the first of the year if all parties agree. The council asked that the
item on the amendment process be postponed. Ms. Childs will make that recommendation.
e
MINUTES--City Council Work Session October 14, 1992 Page 3
5:30 p.m.
