June 30, 1976 <br />i Adjourned meeting - from June 28, 1976 - was called to order by His Honor Mayor Lester E. <br /> Anderson in the Council Chamber on June 30, 1976 at 11:30 a.m. with the folloiwng Council <br /> members present: Gus Keller, Eric Haws, Wickes Beal, Tom Williams, Ray Bradley, and <br /> D. W. Hamel. Council members Neil Murray and Edna Shirey were absent. <br /> I - City Budget, 1976-77 <br />i Manager referred to the Parks Department memo outlining alternatives proposed for <br /> retaining the $14,500 in the outdoor recreation program (transferred by the budget <br /> committee to library book purchases). The Parks Department requested that the <br />I recreation budget as a whole not be reconisdered, only that shifts within the pro- <br /> gram be allowed, increasing fees in that program area or others where suitable to <br /> enable keeping the outdoor program at its present budgeted level. <br /> Council Bill No. 1186 - Adopting budget in the amount of $37,869,605 for <br /> the year 1976-77 and levying tax in the amount of <br /> $10,858,308 was read by council bill number and title only, there being no <br /> Council member present requesting that it be read in full. <br /> Mr. Keller moved second by Mr. Haws that the bill be read the second time by council <br /> bill number only, with unanimous consent of the Council, and that enactment be con- <br /> sidered at this time. Motion carried unanimously and the bill was read the second <br /> time by council bill number only. <br /> e Mr. Keller moved second by Mr. Haws that the bill be approved and given final <br /> passage. Rollcall vote. All Council members present voting aye, the bill was de- <br /> clared passed and numbered 17704. <br /> Council Bill No. 1187 - Levying tax in the amount of $157,532 for Downtown <br /> Development District was read by council bill number <br /> and title only, there being no Council member present requesting that it be <br /> read in full. <br /> Mr. Keller moved second by Mr. Haws that the bill be read the second time by council <br /> bill number only, with unanimous consent of the Council, and that enactment be con- <br /> sidered at this time. Motion carried unanimously and the bill was read the second <br /> time by council bill number only. <br /> Mr. Keller moved second by Mr. Haws that the bill be approved and given final <br /> I passage. Rollcall vote. All Council members present voting aye, the bill was de- <br /> : clared passed and numbered 17705. <br /> I Mr. Keller moved second by Mr. Haws to approve adjustment within the <br /> I parks department budget as proposed to retain the $14,500 for the <br /> outdoor recreation program. Rollcall vote. Motion carried, all <br /> Council members present voting aye. <br /> I <br /> II - Manager's Salary <br /> Manager Charles Henry was excused from the meeting while the Council turned to <br /> :e discussion of his salary. Mayor noted that adjustment to department head salaries. <br /> had been made based on an approximate 5% increase.
