MAPAC Fina1ists--It was announced the finalists selected by Council <br />President and Vice President for interviews of the two vacancies <br />on MAPAC were as follows: James Breeden, William Levin, James Lemert, <br />John Morrison, and Joseph Olexa. <br /> <br />Mr. Bradley moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, to schedule Council <br />interview of the finalists for Wednesday, March 29, 6:30 p.m., <br />McNutt Room, with questions to be submitted to finalists prior <br />to the interview. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Bradley noted there will be a MAPAC meeting March 23 and the <br />finalists might want to be advised of that meeting in case they <br />wish to attend. <br /> <br />E. CETA--Gary Long reported since the February 8 status report to <br />Council, the staff has been negotiating with Lane County about a <br />program agent agreement and it appears that will be resolved within <br />the framework of the general City Council policy in the near future. <br />The staff is also busy getting a reapplication submitted to the <br />Department of Labor which will be necessary to recognize the City <br />of Eugene as a prime sponsor. However, he said there was some ques- <br />tion regarding the status of the city's population of 100,000. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />F. Minorities Commission--Manager noted two vacancies on the Commission, <br />with staff advertising to 5:00 p.m., March 24. <br /> <br />Mr. Bradley moved, seconded by Mr. Delay, to accept the resig- <br />nation of Tokshin Yi. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Bradley moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, to affirm the Commission <br />Chairman action removing Dave Harding from the Minorities Commis- <br />sion because of unexcused absences. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />G. Agenda Adjustment--Manager noted three public hearings scheduled <br />for water withdrawals would be heard after the public hearings on <br />street and easement vacations. <br /> <br />II. Public Hearings Re. Street and Easement Vacation <br /> <br />A. Street vacation, located east of Wallis Street between West First <br />Avenue and the Amazon Channel (Hult) (SV 77-5). Jim Saul, Planner, <br />said the street is one that was dedicated some years ago. Since <br />that time a different subdivision pattern with alternative streets <br />had been approved.
