Councilors present were: Tom Williams, Eric Haws, Jack Delay, <br /> Scott Lieuallen, and Betty Smith. Councilors D. W. Hamel and Brian Obie were absent. <br /> ------ <br /> I. Cal~jLfubli~__~earings July 19, 1978, re: Water Withdrawals <br /> Because the public hearings had been called for July 5, 1978, and that meeting <br /> was sUbsequently cancelled, it was necessary to call the hearings for July 19, <br /> to allow sufficient time for advertising. <br /> Res. No. 2949 -- Calling public hearing July 19, 1978 re: Withdrawal <br /> from Oakway Water District property located both sides <br /> of Arcadia Drive, north of Harlow Road (Tronrud, O'Donnell <br /> et al)(A/Z 77-1) was read by number and title. <br />- Mr. Delay moved, seconded by Mr. Haws, to adopt the resolution. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Res. No. 2950 -- Calling public hearing July 19, 1978 re: Withdrawal from <br /> Oakway Water District, property located between Calvin <br /> Street and Arcadia Drive, north of Harlow Road (Nelson/ <br /> Gent)(A/Z 78-1) was read by number and title. <br /> Mr. Delay moved, seconded by Mr. Haws, to adopt the resolution. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> II. Ca.LLtng )pecia] City Budget Election August 8, 1978 <br /> The Budget Committee had approved, by a 7:6 vote, a motion by Eric Haws to adopt <br /> staffoption #1 (see attached). <br /> C.B. 1710 -- Ordering a special election to be conducted by the Lane County <br /> Election Department on the 8th day of August, 1978, for the <br /> purpose of submitting to the legal voters of the City of Eugene <br /> (1) a measure authorizing the Eugene City Council to levy <br /> throughout the City $6,020,749 more in tax revenues than is <br /> not authorized by the Oregon Constitution, Art. XI, Sec. 11; <br /> adopting polling places, and providing for all acts necessary <br /> for the carrying onof said election; and declaring an <br /> emergency was read by council bill number and title, there <br />. being no Councilor present requesting it be read in full. <br /> Special Meeting 6/29/78 -- 1 <br /> ITS/ <br /> ------ - <br />
