Public Information Dissemination--Mr. Haws referred to recent
comments about local officials withholding public information.
He is not aware that the City Council has any problems in that
area, and he wishes the press to know that information is always
readily available to them, unless it is an exempt confidential
communication.

B. Budget Committee Nomination--Gretchen Miller nominated Paul Bestler,
1697 Augusta, for appointment to the Budget Committee.

Mr. Delay moved, seconded by Mrs. Smith, to approve the appoint-
ment of Paul Bestler, term expiring 12/31/81. Motion carried
unanimously.

C. Metropolitan Plan Policy Committee Appointment--Gretchen Miller
mentioned that a Council appointment to the MPPC will not be made
until January 22. Since there will be a meeting of that committee
tomorrow, she wondered what Council wished to do about representation.

Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, to authorize Mrs. Miller
to participate at the January 18 meeting. Motion carried unanimously.

D. L-COG Alternate--Mr. Lieuallen expressed interest in being appointed
as an L-COG alternate.

Mr. Delay moved, seconded by Mrs. Smith, to approve Mr. Lieuallen's
appointment as the L-COG alternate. Motion carried unanimously.

E. Road Dust Progress--Mr. Delay complimented the Public Works depart-
ments of Eugene and Springfield and LRAPA, all of whom have been doing
extensive work on road dust and soils.
