<br />e <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />EUGENE CITY COUNCIL <br />February 7, 1979 <br /> <br />,Adjourned meeting from January 24, 1979, of the City Council of the City of <br />Eugene, Oregon, was called to order by Council President Jack Delay, February 7, <br />1979, 11:30 a.m., King's Table, Oakway Mall, with the following Councilors <br />present: Eric Haws, Scott Lieuallen, Brian Obie, Betty Smith; Gretchen Miller, <br />and Emily Schue. Mayor Gus Keller and Councilor D.W. Hamel were absent. <br /> <br />I. Items from Mayor and Council <br /> <br />A. Appointments--Mayor Keller submitted appointments for the Historic <br />Review Board and Charitable Public Solicitations Committee. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieuallen moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, to approve the <br />appointments. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Those appointed were as follows: <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Historic Review Board--Joan Rich, 2050 Madison, reappointment to <br />four-year term ending 1/1/83; Kenneth Helphand, 2150 Elk Avenue, <br />reappointment to four-year term ending 1/1/83. <br /> <br />Charitable Public Solicitations Committee--Terry Devereaux, 400 East <br />2nd, reappointment to four-year term ending 1/1/83; Dirk VanDenBosch, <br />1755 West 25th, four-year term ending 1/1/83. <br /> <br />Betty Smith was appointed to the Social Services Advisory Committee <br />at Lane County. <br /> <br />B. Financial Report on Revenue Sharing--Mr. Obie noted Council's receipt <br />of the report. Sherman Flogstad, Finance Director, will send the <br />Council a memorandum addressing potential exposure problems. <br /> <br />C. Hearings Panel 2/5/79--Mr. Lieuallen reported problems with Council <br />Bill 1821 levying assessments. Councilors should read minutes of the <br />Hearings Panel meeting as Council will have to make a decision at its <br />February 12, Monday night meeting. <br /> <br />D. Council Subcommittee on Citizen Involvement--Ms. Schue said the <br />Subcommittee had met three times and would be making a recommendation <br />for Council consideration February 14. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />55 <br /> <br />2/7/79--1 <br />
