<br /> . <br /> . <br /> . <br /> . , <br /> M I NUT E S <br /> - EUGENE CITY COUNCIL <br /> August 1, 1979 <br /> Adjourned meeting from July 9, 1979, of the City Council of the City of Eugene, <br /> Oregon, was called to order by His Honor Mayor Gus Keller at 11:45 a.m., Council <br /> Chambers, with the following Councilors present: Betty Smith, Eric Haws, Scott <br /> Lieuallen, Brian Obie, Gretchen Miller, and D. W. Hamel. Councilors Jack Delay <br /> and Emily Schue were absent. <br /> I. ITEMS FROM MAYOR AND COUNCIL <br /> A. Appointments <br /> 1. Balloting for Metropolitan Area Planning Advisory Committee <br /> Interviewees <br /> Manager suggested since Mr. Delay was on vacation that a substi- <br /> tute be appointed to Gonsider appointments to MAPAC. <br /> Mr. Haws moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, that Ms. Miller take Mr. <br /> Delay's place on the Subcommittee to make recommendations of <br /> appointments to MAPAC. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> e 2. Appointments to Minority Commission <br /> Manager indicated that the Council Appointment Subcommittee had <br /> recommended the appointments to the Minority Commission of Steve <br /> Hanamura to fill an unexpired term ending January 1, 1981; John <br /> Cadena to fill an unexpired term ending January 1, 1980; Parthara <br /> Behesht-Nejad to fill an unexpired term ending January 1, 1980. <br /> Ms. Smith moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, that the Council approve <br /> the appointments to the Minority Commission. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> 3. Appointments to Handicapped Commission <br /> Manager indicated that nominations for appointment to the Handi- <br /> capped Commission were: Jeanne Knight to fill an unexpired tenn <br /> ending January 1, 1982; Rose Hesse, William Killea, Sandra Orbell, <br /> and Connie Woods to be appointed to fill unexpired tenns ending <br /> January 1, 1980. One unexpired tenn was vacant and the Committee <br /> recommended that it be filled by one remaining candidate, Collin <br /> Gray, who is not a city resident. (City Code Section 2013 indi- <br /> cates that a non-resident can be appointed.) <br /> Ms. Smith moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, that the Council approve <br /> appointments to the Handicapped Commission. <br /> " <br /> /.f20 8/1/79--1 <br />
