<br />~ <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br />EUGENE CITY COUNCIL <br />May 14, 1980 <br /> <br />The adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon, was <br />called to order by His Honor Mayor Gus Keller with the following councilors <br />present: Betty Smith, Scott Lieuallen, Brian Obie, Eric Haws, Jack Delay, <br />D. W. Hamel, Gretchen Miller, and Emily Schue. <br /> <br />I. ITEMS FROM MAYOR AND COUNCIL, APPOINTMENTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, AGENDA ADJUSTMENTS <br /> <br />1. Energy Conservation Policy Board Meeting <br /> <br />Ms. Miller stated that a meeting of the Energy Conservation Policy <br />Board would be held that evening at 7:30 p.m. in the McNutt Room. <br />They will be discussing the financing program which the EWEB Board <br />considered on February 27, 1980. Greg Page, Technology Coordinator, <br />was directed to prepare a resolution to ask EWEB to adopt the financing <br />program and to bring this resolution back to the council on May 21, <br />for the City Council to take action. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Child Care, Inc. Facility <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Ms. Miller stated that a house owned by the City which is used by <br />Child Care, Inc., was damaged in a fire last week. Child Care, Inc. <br />has not yet been notified by the City whether they will be allowed to <br />continue to use the facility after it is repaired or if they are <br />going to need to relocate. She would like a status report on <br />the situation to be brought back. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Budget Committee Meeting <br /> <br />City Manager stated that the next Budget Committee meeting would be <br />May 15. Dinner will be at 5:45 p.m., and the meeting will begin at <br />6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />4. Tour of Gillespie Butte <br /> <br />Mr. Henry stated that a tour would be leaving at 12:15 to view the <br />EWEB property which could become a park site. Transportation will be <br />furnished. <br /> <br />5. Historic Preservation Week <br /> <br />Jan Muller. chairman of the Historic Preservation Board, summarized <br />the past five years and reviewed the goals and objectives. Nineteen <br />landmarks and one historic area have been designated. They have <br />distributed $72,000 in City funds and $152,000 in Community Development <br />~ funds for preservation and restoration. <br /> <br />5/14/80--1 <br />
