BicyclelTraffic Problems <br /> <br />Mr. Lindberg stated that he appreciates the efforts put forth by the Eu~ene <br />Register-Guard and Jim Hanks, Traffic Engineer, regarding problems of blke <br />traffic not coming to a full stop at stop signs. There may be no immediate <br />remedy, but he would encourage legislative remedies at the State level. <br /> <br />E. Application for Downtown Transit Station and Contra-Flow Lane <br /> <br />Councilor Lindberg stated that he had been told that LTD has been denied urban <br />initiative funding for the downtown transit station and contra-flow lane. Mr. <br />Gleason stated that the entire grant-in-aid program is in danger on every front, <br />but that staff will pursue other sources of funding for the contra-flow con- <br />cept. <br /> <br />F. Meetings <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mr. Gleason announced the following meetings: a public heari,ng for Community <br />Development allocations will be held February 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the McNutt <br />Room; the Legislative Subcommittee will meet February 13 at 11:30 a.m. in <br />the McNutt Room; the Eugene Economic Improvement Committee will meet at 11:30 <br />on Tuesday in the Mayor's Office; and the Budget Committee will meet at 7:30 <br />in the McNutt Room on February 17. This will be a public hearing for revenue <br />sharing and a regular Budget Committee hearing to work on the subcommittee <br />report for organization. Ms. Wooten expressed concern that the McNutt Room <br />might not contain adequate space for a public hearing. Mr. Gleason responded <br />that the public hearing would be held in the Council Chamber. <br /> <br />G. Appointments <br /> <br />1.
