Ruth Miller, Neighborhood Liaison, stated <br /> that Caroline Frengle has been active although not a neighborhood leader. Mark <br /> Lindberg indicated that Ms. Frengle had been a board member of the Neighborhood <br /> Housing Resource Center and lives in the Jefferson Neighborhood but is not on <br /> the Jefferson board. He indicated he was not sure about Mr. Van Landingham's <br /> association, but he has provided support to the neighborhoods as an attorney. <br /> Council consensus was for staff to determine when the interviews would be <br /> held. <br /> D. Introduction of New Public Service Officer <br /> Mr. Gleason announced that Loren Stubbert will be the Public Service Officer <br /> e in the City Manager's Office for the next six months. <br /> E. Meetings <br /> Mr. Gleason announced a Budget Committee meeting at 7:30 p.m. on July 21 in <br /> the McNutt Room; a joint meeting and task force report of industrial land <br /> use on July 15 at 11:30 a.m.; and the Monday night council work dinner session <br /> to be held at the Treehouse at 5 p.m. <br /> F. Fire Fighters' Settlement <br /> Gary Long stated that a two-year settlement had been made with the Fire Fighters' <br /> Association which includes this year's negotiations. The City and the Union <br /> decided to go with a two-year settlement rather than one year. He introduced <br /> Bruce Mulligan and Frank Jackson to provide additional information. Mr. Mulligan <br /> stated that the labor agreement is for an 8-1/2 percent increase on July 1, 1981, <br /> with a 1.6 percent market adjustment on January 1, 1982; the figures for <br /> July 1, 1982, depend upon the Consumer Price Index. $465,000 is the total <br /> cost for the first year. He thanked the fire fighters for their aid in the <br /> negotiations. Mr. Jackson stated that he represents Local 851 and thanked <br /> staff for their cooperation. The settlement was finally reached with an increase <br /> in the medical package, and they can now go forward with the Joint Labor/Manage- <br /> ment Committee which is the first in the State.
