Councilor Solomon, seconded by Councilor Ortiz, moved to authorize the City Man- ager to consummate the exchange of the City-owned .29 acre tax lot for the proposed easement over approximately .56 acre of the Tedron Properties parcel and the addi- tional $143,300 cash payment from Tedron Properties. ACTION: Implementation Strategies for Sustainable Business Initiative Measures City Manager Taylor stated that the materials in the packet contained the recommendations as presented at the work session. Councilor Solomon, seconded by Councilor Ortiz, moved to direct the City Manager to place the proposed resolution as modified by Attachment B publicly committing the City of Eugene to sustainable practices and to businesses that produce sustainable products and services on an upcoming Consent Calendar. Councilor Solomon felt this motion circumvented the process that the City Council used in its goals session. She said the discussion should include councilors-elect Alan Zelenka and Mike Clark. Councilor Papé acknowledged Councilor Solomon’s concern. He remarked that the word ‘consider’ made the motion acceptable for him. Councilor Pryor echoed Councilor Papé’s comments. He added that he thought the Sustainable Business Initiative (SBI) report was “great.” Roll call vote; the motion passed, 7:1; Councilor Solomon voting in opposition.
