MINUTES <br /> <br /> Eugene City Council <br /> McNutt Room--City Hall <br /> <br /> April 14, 1998 <br /> 6p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Pat Farr, Ken Tollenaar, Scott Meisner, Laurie Swanson Gribskov, Nancy Nathanson, <br /> Betty Taylor. <br /> <br />ABSENT: Bobby Lee, Tim Laue. <br /> <br /> I. INTERVIEW FINALISTS FOR THE EUGENE BUDGET COMMITTEE <br /> <br />The council welcomed Sylvia Roehnelt. Councilors introduced themselves. <br /> <br />Mr. Farr explained that absent councilors would receive copies of the meeting tape prior to a <br />council work session to select the successful candidates. <br /> <br />Ms. Roehnelt was asked the following questions: <br /> <br /> 1. Why have you applied for a position on the Budget Committee? <br /> <br /> 2. What do you feel are the most important issues facing the City in the next year? <br /> In the next five years? <br /> <br /> 3. Discuss your relevant training experience in working on financial issues that would <br /> enable you to function as an effective member of the Budget Committee. <br /> <br /> 4. Discuss any experience you have had serving on an advisory group to a policy- <br /> making body. <br /> <br /> 5. Are there specific services, parts of the City organization, or financial initiatives <br /> that you are particularly interested in pursuing as a Budget Committee member? <br /> <br /> 6. What three things can the City do to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of <br /> service delivery? <br /> <br />Mr. Farr thanked Ms. Roehnelt and indicated she would be contacted with the council's decision. <br /> <br />The councilors briefly shared impressions of the candidate. <br /> <br />The council welcomed Richard Dwyer, and councilors introduced themselves. The council asked <br />Mr. Dwyer the same series of questions asked of Ms. Roehnelt.
