aRDINANCE No. 19698 <br />AN aRDINANCE DECLARING CERTAIN STALL SIGNS <br />EXEMPT FROM THE MaRATaRIUM IMPOSED BY <br />ORDINANCE NaS. 19654 AND 19672. <br />RECITALS« <br />A. on November z2, 1989, ordinance No. 19454 was passed by <br />the Council and approved by the Mayor, which imposed a moratorium <br />on the issuance of certain sign permits far a period of ninety days <br />therefrom. <br />B. The moratorium was extended until July 31, 1990 by <br />Ordinance No. 19672, adopted by the Council and approved by the <br />Mayor on March 12, 1994. <br />C. As indicated in the Recitals of ordinance No. 19654, the <br />moratorium was originally intended to be in effect for a period of <br />only three months while revisions to the Sign Code were being <br />effected. <br />D. It was not the Council's intent at the time the <br />moratorium was imposed nor when it was extended to prohibit newly <br />constructed buildings from erecting wall signs, and such signs <br />should be declared exempt from application of the moratorium. <br />Naw, THEREFORE, <br />THE CITY aF E[IGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FaLLO'WS <br />Section 1. Wall signs on buildings completed after June 20, <br />1990 are hereby declared exempt from the moratorium imposed by <br />ordinance No. 19654 has extended by ordinance No. 19672. <br />Section 2.
