ORDINANCE NO. 19158 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE TREE COMMISSION; AND AMENDING <br />SECTIONS 2.245, 2.247, AND 2.249 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1911. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOW5: <br />Section 1. Section 2.245 of the Eugene Cade, 1911, is amended to pro- <br />vide: <br />2.245 Tree Commi s„ion -Created, The tree commission is established to <br />serve as an adv~~sory body to the city manager or desi nee with res- <br />ect too er ~ ~ • g <br />p p atonal matters, and•to the city caunc~l on pol~c~es relating to <br />the city's program for preservation, enhancement and maintenance of Eu ene's <br />g <br />urban forest . <br />Section 2. Subparagraph ~d~ of Section 2.241 of the Eugene Code, 1971, <br />is amended to provide: <br />2.241 Tree Commission ~- Duties. The duties of the tree commission in mak- <br />i ng and subm~~tti ng ~~~ts recommendations with respect to the ci t ' s <br />y <br />program for preservation, enhancement and maintenance of the city's urban <br />forest shat] include, but not be limited to: <br />,~d~ Assisting the city manager or designee in educating and <br />ra~s~ng the public's awareness regarding the value and signifi- <br />cance of a healthy and diversified urban forest. <br />Section 3. Subsection 2 of Section 2.249 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is <br />amended to provide; <br />2.249 Tree Commission - Membershi , Term of Office. <br />~2~ All members shall be selected on the basis of their prior <br />interest i n the city's urban forest.
