Free entertainment will be presented
several days a week, lighting will be improved in several
locations and EPD’s downtown bicycle patrol has increased its
presence to enhance safety, and inhibit behavior problems and
criminal activity.

Summer in the City entertainment includes lunchtime performances every Tuesday in the Park Blocks, Emerald
Chamber Players performances every Saturday at the Atrium, frequent evening concerts at the Broadway Plaza,
highlighted by the Satin Love Orchestra on July 30, and other entertainment several times each week. For a
complete list of all of the Summer in the City events, go to www.HultCenter.org. Summer in the City brings arts
and business together to make downtown Eugene a safe, welcoming and entertaining environment for all. This is the fifth year of
concentrated leadership development and involved 29
managers representing all departments at the City.
Their participation in the nine-month program included
a personal leadership skills development assessment;
exploration of effective communication, organizational
culture and the power of stories in leadership; a study
of the skills of dynamic change, and a session with
community partners. The power of the program, along
with the monthly learning topics, has resulted in
improved cross-departmental understanding and
building of valuable cross-organizational networks
between managers and leaders at the City.
