TUE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1 . That a special election is hereby called to be held <br />in the City of Eugene, Oregon on Tuesday, the 30th day of July, 1968, <br />at which election there shall be submitted to the legal voters of <br />said City fqr their adoption or rejection, the following proposed <br />measure, tb- wi t t <br />Proposod by Resolution of the Common Council and referred to the <br />electors 3 <br />Measure No. 51 <br />AN ACT <br />Authorizing the common Council to levy $ more in <br />tax revenues than the city is authorized to raise by taxation with- <br />in the six percent limitation upon the City's tax levy as contained <br />in Article X1, Section 11 of the constitution of Oregon. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />BE IT ENACTED BY THE ELE CTO RE OF TEE CITY OF EUG ELSE ` OREGON: <br />Sect on. 1. For the fiscal period beginning July 1, 1968 and <br />ending dune 30, 1969, the Commoh council of the City of Eugene, <br />Oregon is hereby authorized to levy a tax of $330,000.00 for the <br />purpose of paying the operating expenses of the City for said period <br />of time which tax is to be in addition to and outside the Constitu -- <br />tional six percent limitation upon the city's tax levy as set forth <br />in Article XI, Section 11, of the constitution of the State of Oregon. <br />Section 2 . The maximum rate of levy being necessary to raise <br />said sum of $ $330,000.00 is $0e6l per thousand dollars of true cash <br />value of taxable property within the corporate limits of the city of <br />Eugene, Oregon. <br />Se€i on 3 . This measure shall become effective July 1, 1968. <br />Section 2. The City Recorder is directed to provide such <br />ballots, ballot boxes, poll boxes, poll books, tally sheets, and such <br />other supplies for each polling place as are necessary for the conduct <br />of said election. <br />Page 1.
