ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 44-11-04
of the City Manager
City of Eugene, Oregon
REPEAL OF ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 44- 93.06 REGARDING
CITY RECORDS RETENTION SCHEDULE,
The City Manager of the City of Eugene finds that:
A. Under the provisions of Chapter IV, Section 16 of the Eugene Charter of 2002,
the City Manager is designated as the administrative head of the City, specifically authorized to
appoint, remove, and direct all employees (except as otherwise provided in the Charter), and to
enforce all ordinances of the City.
B. On August 27, 1993, Administrative Order No. 44- -93 -06 was issued ordering that
the City follow the "City Records Retention Schedule" as adopted by the Oregon Administrative
Rules. The Order also provided that City departments could designate extended retention
periods which would supersede the State's minimum requirements.
Co' The policy to designate extended retention periods is being terminated and the
City will use the State's minimum retention periods. Therefore, Administrative Order No. 44-
93 -06 should be repealed.
Novo, therefore,
The City Manager of the City of Eugene orders that, based on the above findings
which are adopted, Administrative Order No. 44 -93 -06 is repealed and the City shall .use the
record retention schedule adopted by the Administrative Rules of the State of .Oregon (currently
OAR 166, Division 200).
Dated and effective this /ay of June, 2011.
Jon R.
