One of the summer leagues starts <br />play next month, registration for three more leagues will be held in May, and participation at <br />the new disk golf course has exploded! <br /> <br />Softball play for 182 men, women and coed teams in the City Adult League will begin on May <br />19. Meanwhile, 40-45 coed and women’s teams are expected to register for volleyball May 7 <br />– 10, for games that begin June 17. Registration for co-ed summer soccer will be held from <br />May 14 - 17, and is likely to top 25 teams. Men’s basketball could draw as many as 20 teams. <br />City staff anticipates 100 individuals will register for summer Ultimate from June 1 - 24, with <br />those games beginning on July 2. <br /> <br />Each year, the Athletics program records more than 100,000 participants in adult sports <br />leagues, and this summer is likely to see an increase in that number thanks to the new disk <br />golf course at Alton Baker Park. Since the new course opened on April 1, it has drawn 300 <br />rounds a day and may add up to 8,000 - 10,000 rounds per month this summer. <br /> <br />For more information about Summer Adult Leagues, call Dave Battaglia at 541-682-5409. <br /> <br />City Singers Perform at Eugene Public Library <br />Join the City Singers for a delightful free concert on First Friday, May 3, at 6 p.m., at <br />the Downtown Eugene Public Library! <br /> <br />Composed of City of Eugene employees, this talented choir sings everything from <br />16th century madrigals to doo-wop to folk songs, in many languages.
