The meeting was called to order by his Honor, Mayor <br />Earl McNutt. Councilmen present at rollcall were - Koppe, Hawn at 8:40 Davis <br />Crumbaker, Bailey, Hurley, Johnson, Allen was absent. J. Busch offers $500.00 for Lot 6, Block 28, Chula Vista Park, Second <br />Addition. ('East side Columbia Street 55 feet north of 24th) City to put in <br />25 or 30 feet more 30" pipe. <br />City Appraisal: $500.00 <br />Co&~ittee recommendation: Hold for further investigation re: Sewer development. <br /> <br />Paul W. Campbell offers $400.00 for the above Lot 6, Block 28, Chula Vista Park <br />Second Addition. <br />Committee recommendation: Hold for further investigation re: Sewer development. <br /> <br />Geo. W.lVfiltonberger offers $5000.00 for all City property lying East of the <br />"Hawn Road". (East of Block 6, Fairmount Heights Addition.) <br />Committe~ recommendation: Hold for further development. <br /> <br />Wm. B. Shelley-Broker offers for client W. Harvey $300.00 for the West 110 feet <br />of Block "A" Cherry Grove Addition. (End of pavement of Rostein Blvd.) March 11, 1946 offered to take <br />$2000.00. <br />Committee recommendation: Accepted. <br /> <br />It was moved by Johnson, seconded by Davis that the report of the Committee be <br />adopted. <br /> <br />A report of the Council Parks Committee re: Proposed disposition of <br />6 City owned property between 19th and 21st Avenues West from Lawrence to Washington <br />Streets was submitted and read. <br /> <br />"Your Committee on Parks to whom was referred the matter of the sale <br />and/or trade of City owned properties between 19th and 21st Avenues West from <br />Lawrence to Washington Streets begs to report as follows: <br /> <br />That your Committee finds upon investigation that <br />1. The Common Council meeting in regular session February 27, 1945 <br />voted unanimously to dedicate for park and playground purposes within the City <br />of Eugene certain City owned properties including the tract between Washington <br />and Lawrence, from 19th to 21st Avenues West. <br /> <br />2. That the notice of such dedication was publicized at that time and <br />that proposed plans for the development of the property as a P?rk playground area <br />were presented to the public shortly thereafter. . <br /> <br />3. That no other similar sites are available nor will be available <br />in the future to the City of Eugene for such purpose and the property adJacent <br />to the City swimming poo+ site opposite the fairgreunds, available in trade as <br />a part of the proposed transaction with the st. Mary's Parish, is not of suf- <br />ficient size nor type to lend itself to the type and development planned for the <br />19th to 21st site. <br /> <br />Your Committee, therefore, reco~nends to the Mayor and the ,Common <br />Council that the property bounded by Washington and Lawrence Streets from 19th <br />to 21st be retained for Park playground purposes and that the Common Council do <br />not entertain any offers for the sale or disposition of the property now or in <br />the fut ure.", <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager thereupon submitted a letter from the Reverend <br />7, Francis P.
