<br />4~ <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Councim Ghambers, Eugene, Oregon. ~~ ~ <br />11arch 19, 1928. ~i.~';>> <br /> <br />Minutes of the adjourned meeting of the Gammon Council held at 5;00 o'clock <br />P.M. on March 19, 1928, there being present Mayor A L Williamson and all members <br />of the Council except Washburne and Hendershott who were absent. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />This being the time to open bids for the purchase of $113,013.70 Series <br />"A-G" Improvement Bonds, the following bi ds were received: <br /> <br />Geo. H Burr, Gonrad and BrowraInc.; Freeman, Smith and Camp Co.; Ferris and <br />Hardgrove :. <br />Par and accrued interest with a premium of $100.02 for each $100.00 par value <br />of bonds purchased with interest at 5t% per annum, the City to furnish an <br />abstract and the bidder to pay for an opinion thereon. <br /> <br />Carl E Nelson; Blyth, Witter and Co.; <br />par and accrued interest with a premium of $100.05 for each $100.00 par value <br />of bonds purchased with interest at 5i~ per annum, the city to furnish an <br />abstract and the bidder to pay for an opinion thereon. <br /> <br />Pierce, Fair and Go; Atkinson, Jones and Co.; Lumbermans Trust Co.p <br />Par and accrued interest with no premium on each $100.00 j?ar value of bonds <br />p~chased with interest at 5~% per annum, the City to furnish an abstract and <br />the bidder to pay for an opinion thereon. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Said bids were referred to the Finance Committee for report and it recom- <br />mended the bid of Geo H Burr, Conrad and Broom, Inc., Freeman Smith and Camp <br />Co., Ferris and Hardgrove; at par and accrued interest with a premium of $100.02 <br />and for each $100.00 par value of bonds purchased, the city to furnish an <br />abstract and the bidder to pay for an opinion thereon, be accepted and on motion, <br />duly carried, such recommendation was approved and the Mayor and Recorder <br />directed to execute such bonds on behalf of the city. <br /> <br />Considerable discussion was had a.s to whether or not the city should resur- <br />face Blair Boulevard for those portions of ~uch Street as are not resurfaced by <br />the ~ailway Co. in covering the Street Car tracks. It was finally decided the <br />S tree t C ommi ttee should ge t price s req,uired to re'surface:'_all port ions of s tree ts <br />to be resurfaoed by the Railway Co. in covering the Street Car tracks. <br /> <br />On motion, Council adjourned to meet at 7;30 o'clock P.M. on .tv1arch 26, 1928. <br /> <br />Geo. Gilmore, <br />City Recorder. <br /> <br />Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon. <br />.March 26, 1928. <br /> <br />Adjourned meeting of the Common Council held at 7;30 o'clock P.hl. on Iv1arch <br />26, 1928, there being present Mayor A L Williamson and all members of the Council. <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />C A Hardy appeared as attorney for Wm Wells and Wm Carson and made applicatio <br />to rent the Municipal Auto Camp at ~75.00 per month. ~he Park Board also reported <br />on the matter of the proposed closing of the Au to Park Camp and its report was <br />duly filed as was the Wells and Carson application. The Weilils and Carson appli- <br />cation was referred to the Park Board. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />W.B. Parker, a student of the University of Oregon, appeared and stated the <br />students will have ~heir annual Canoe Fete on ~~y 11, and 12th, 1928 and asked <br />that Franklin Boulevard near the Mill Race be closed to traffic all day on !viay 11 <br />and until noon on 1fuy 12th while such entertairunent is held. The Police Committee <br />recommended such req,uest be granted, and, nn motion, such recommendation was <br />approved. <br /> <br />A petition was received from the ~ugene Federation of Women's Organizations <br />asking a license to "RodeolT shows alleged to be booked for Eugene, be denied. <br />Said matter was referred to the Judiciary Comrni ttee. <br /> <br />....i <br />
