Council was called to order by Mayor La.rge, <br />with all Councilmen present except Mr. Reid and Dr. Harris. <br /> <br />Minutes of the regular meeting of May 14th and the adjourned meeting of <br />May 28th were read and -approved. <br /> <br />Miss Reynolds reported that soot from the stack at the Eugene Farmer's <br />Creamery at 6.th and Oli ve Stree ts was a serious nuisance to the occupancy of their <br />residence property. The matter was referred to the Health Coa~ittee. <br /> <br />F. M. Cashman presented a communication from the Pacific Savings and Loan <br />Association relative to an old assessment against property which is the South 40 <br />feet of the North 80 feet of Lot 1, Block 2, Cherry Grove Addition, with a request <br />that the interest be rebated. The matter was referred to the Judiciary Committee <br />and City Attorney. <br /> <br />Mr. Cashman suggested that "S10wu signs be placed on the Pacific Highway <br />near the Anchorage on account of so many children and young people crossing the <br />highway at the swimming pool. He was advised by the Police Committee that markers <br />would be established at this P9int. <br /> <br />The Finance Committee, by Chairman Hendershott, reported the following <br />bills to the Council with a recommendation that they be allowed, and motion was <br />made seconded and carried that warrants be drawn for same.
