<br /> M I NUT E S <br /> e Eugene City Council <br /> City Council Chamber <br /> September 24, 1984 <br /> 7:35 p.m. <br /> COUNCILORS PRESENT: Brian Obie, John Ball, Richard Hansen, Freeman Holmer, <br /> Debra Ehrman, Emily Schue, Ruth Bascom <br /> COUNCILOR ABSENT: Cynthia Wooten <br /> Adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon, was <br /> called to order by His Honor Mayor Gus Keller. <br /> I. ITEMS FROM COUNCILOR HANSEN <br /> A. Sorrel Way Sidewalks <br /> Councilor Hansen, stating that he would be absent from the City Council <br /> meeting on September 26, asked that the issue of the construction of sidewalks <br /> on Sorrel Way be postponed so that he might participate in the council action. <br /> -- B. Ballot Measure 2 <br /> Councilor Hansen said he wished to go on record as opposing Ballot Measure 2 <br /> since he would be absent on September 26 when the council would take formal <br /> action on the issue. <br /> C. Historic Street Tree Ballot Measure <br /> Councilor Hansen stated for the record that he opposed the Historic Street <br /> Tree ballot measure, explaining that the measure would hinder the City in <br /> developing long-range transportation plans for the community. <br /> C. Laurelwood Golf Course Contest <br /> Councilor Hansen reported that he and Mayor Keller had kicked off the "Hole-in- <br /> Oneil Contest at the Laurelwood Golf Course that afternoon. He explained that <br /> for a $5 entry fee individuals could try to win $100,000 by making a hole-in-one. <br /> He added that proceeds from the contest will go to the Parks Department and <br /> Laurelwood Golf Course. <br /> - <br /> MINUTES--Eugene City Council September 24, 1984 Page 1 <br />
