Obie. <br /> I. ITEMS FROM MAYOR AND COUNCIL, APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCEMENTS, AGENDA <br /> ADJUSTMENTS <br /> A. Items from Mayor and Council <br /> l. Report from Parks and Recreation Department <br /> Referring to a report from the Parks and Recreation Department, Councilor <br /> Ehrman said the Washington Park wading pool was not open this summer. She <br />e hoped the wading pools will be open next summer. <br /> 2. Consortium to Address Substance Abuse <br /> Council Rutan said he is serving on a Coordinating Committee initiated by <br /> School District 4-J. The committee hopes to develop a strategy and a <br /> community consortium for addressing the issues of substance abuse. He will <br /> report to the council on it later. <br /> 3. Land Conservation and Development Commission Hearing <br /> Councilor Schue will testify before the Land Conservation and Development <br /> Commission this week during final consideration of the Metropolitan Area <br /> General Pl an. <br /> 4. Tree and Beautification Commission <br /> Councilor Bascom said children will be asked to participate in a tree planting <br /> ceremony when the first phase of the widening of 6th and 7th avenues is <br /> compl eted. <br /> The commission is planning a tree fair at the 1986 Eugene Celebration. <br />- <br /> MINUTES--Eugene City Council September 11,1985 Page 1 <br />
