<br /> M I NUT E S <br />e EUGENE CITY COUNCIL <br /> September 27, 1976 <br />'- <br /> Special meeting of the Conunon Council of the city of Eugene, Oregon, was called to 'order <br /> by Council President Gus Keller in the absence of Mayor Anderson at 6:30 p.m. on <br /> September 27, 1976, in the McNutt Room at City Hall for the purpose of selecting two <br /> Planning Conunissioners to fill vacancies created by the expired terms of James Bernhard <br /> and Ken Reeder. Other Council members present were Eric Haws, Wickes Beal, Tom <br /> Williams, Neil Murray, Ray Bradley, Bill Hamel and Edna Shirey. <br /> Finalists interviewed for the two positions on the Planning Conunission for the four-year <br /> tern ending January 1, 1981, were: <br /> Margaret M. Steveson, 341 West 19th Avenue <br /> Pat Munkres, 2104 Dewey Street <br /> It was noted that three of the finalists, James Bernhard, Ken Reeder and Karen Alvarado, <br /> were not able to be present but letters from all three were submitted for the record. <br /> It was noted, too, that a sixth finalist, Elizabeth Heath, had asked that her name be <br /> withdrawn from consideration. <br /> At the conclusion of the interviews, vote was taken to fill James Bernhard's position. <br /> The first vote resulted in the selection of incumbent James Bernhard, all <br />e Council members present casting a vote for him except Mrs. Beal casting <br /> a vote for Karen Alvarado. Mr. Murray moved seconded by Mr. Hamel to <br />"'--- confirm the appointment of James Bernhard for a four-year term ending <br /> January 1, 1981. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The second vote resulted in the selection of incumbent Ken Reeder, all <br /> Council members present casting a vote for him except Ms. Shirey, Mr. <br /> Murray and Mr. Haws casting a vote for Pat Munkres and Mrs. Beal casting <br /> a voting for Karen Alvarado. Mr. Murray moved seconded by Mr. Hamel to <br /> confirm the appointment of Ken Reeder for a four-year term ending <br /> January 1, 1981.
