It was presented to the Council Committee on Intergovernmental Relations Committee (IGR Committee) on October 17, 2006. It was approved by the IGR Committee and forwarded to the City Council for its consideration. BACKGROUND From time to time, outside groups ask the City Council to take positions on various topics and matters of interest to the community. As a matter of routine, these types of proposals and requests first are routed to the IGR Committee; many times these proposals address the city and its role with other agencies, both private and governmental. RELATED CITY POLICIES In 2000, the City of Eugene adopted a resolution directing the City to support the recovery of Upper Willamette Spring Chinook through an integrated City-wide effort of regulatory compliance and proactive environmental restoration projects. COUNCIL OPTIONS The City Council may adopt the proposed resolution, amend proposed resolution or reject the resolution. CITY MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION The City Manager recommends adoption of the proposed resolution. SUGGESTED MOTIONS Move to adopt Resolution 4892 supporting and promoting the Federal Endangered Species Act of 1973 and recovery of threatened and endangered fish and wildlife species. ATTACHMENTS A.
