Torrey called the meeting to order. <br /> <br />1.CEREMONIAL MATTERS <br /> <br /> A. National Breast Cancer Awareness Month <br /> B. 40th Anniversary of Campbell Senior Center <br /> C. White Cane Awareness Month <br /> <br />Mayor Torrey declared October 15th to be White Cane Awareness day and called for all citizens to <br />observe the day by being more aware of people with visual impairments. <br /> <br />Mayor Torrey proclaimed the month of October 2002 as National Breast Cancer Awareness <br />Month. <br /> <br />Rita Kingsbury, noted that the senior center was having its 40th anniversary. She expressed her <br />pride in the history of the center and distributed books about the center to the members of the <br />Council. <br /> <br />II.PUBLIC FORUM <br /> <br />Mike Gansen, 362 Highway 99 North, said he was being assessed unfairly on his property that <br />bordered <br />Bertelson Road. He noted that Bertelson Road was unimproved and there was no guarantee that <br />it would ever be improved. He urged the council to reconsider the assessment issue. <br /> <br />Roxy Cuellar, Homebuilders Association, noted that she had sent an e-mail regarding the <br />association's contract with LCOG to count the available residential land available within the City <br />limits. She said the results of the count would be available to the public.
