M I N U T E S <br /> <br /> <br />Eugene City Council <br />Public Hearing <br />Council Chamber <br />777 Pearl Street—Eugene, Oregon <br /> <br /> September 15, 2008 <br /> 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: Chris Pryor, Andrea Ortiz, Mike Clark, Jennifer Solomon, George Poling, <br />Betty Taylor. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS ABSENT: Alan Zelenka, Bonny Bettman. <br /> <br /> <br />Her Honor Mayor Kitty Piercy called the meeting of the Eugene City Council to order. <br /> <br />1. PUBLIC HEARING <br />An Ordinance Concerning a Council Employee Complaint Process; Adding Sections 2.400, <br />2.402, 2.404, 2.406, 2.410 and 2.412 to the Eugene Code, 1971; and Amending Section 2.486 of <br />that Code. <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy opened the public hearing and reviewed the procedures for providing testimony. There being <br />no one wishing to speak, she closed the hearing. <br /> <br />There were no questions or comments from councilors. <br /> <br />2. PUBLIC HEARING <br />An Ordinance Amending the 1999 Street Classification Map to Add a Newly Constructed Sec- <br />tion of Hilyard Street from East Broadway to Mill Street Which is Designated as a Minor Ar- <br />terial <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy opened the public hearing and reviewed the procedures for providing testimony. There being <br />no one wishing to speak, she closed the hearing. <br /> <br />There were no questions or comments from councilors. <br /> <br />3. PUBLIC HEARING <br />Annexation Request for Eugene School District 4J (A 08-1) <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy opened the public hearing and explained the procedures for providing testimony. <br /> <br />Jon Lauch, Facilities and Transportation Director for School District 4J, said he had also functioned as the <br />district’s property manager for the past 15 years. He said there was a need for the district to retain that <br />property and preserve it for a future school site because it was the only area within the district’s boundary <br />that had the potential for future growth.
