The focus of this meeting is to provide <br />status reports and updates on some key projects of mutual interest. <br /> <br />Agenda topics include: <br />1. Riverfront Master Planning Process - Status report and update on the public engagement <br /> process. (Mark Oberle and Nan Laurence) <br />2. Legislative Issues – Metal theft and Western Climate Initiative (Jason Heuser and Brenda <br /> Wilson) <br /> <br />In addition to the agenda topics, staff has prepared background memos on several other issues of interest <br />including: the Carmen Smith Re-Licensing Agreement, Roosevelt Operation Center progress, utility <br />rates, steam plant transition plan, drinking water protections at Clear Lake, EWEB bonds for wind <br />project, sustainability initiatives, and the Eugene bond measure for street repairs. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The EWEB Board schedules occasional joint meetings with the Eugene City Council to discuss projects <br />involving both bodies and to share information on items of mutual interest. The Board and City Council <br />th <br />last met on May 30, 2007, which was the third in a series of meetings focused on planning the future of <br />the EWEB riverfront property. The next joint meeting was scheduled to occur approximately one year <br />later, but with no specific discussion topics identified. This meeting was subsequently postponed as the <br />most likely agenda item, the Riverfront Master Planning Process, was just getting underway. <br /> <br /> <br />RELATED CITY POLICIES <br />There are no specific City policies to be considered by the City Council at this meeting; it is a status <br />update on several topics. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Z:\CMO\2008 Council Agendas\M081119\S081119A.doc <br />
