ORDINANCE NO. > y~6~ <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE VOTERS PAMPHLET <br />STATEMENT FOR THE DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT <br />DISTRICT TAB LEVY MEASURE, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />Recitals: <br />A. Section 2.995 of the Eugene Code, 1971 prescribes the <br />procedure for preparation of the explanatory statements to be <br />included in the voter's pamphlet when City measures are to be voted <br />upon at an election. <br />B. By Resolution No. 4166 adopted by the Council vn February <br />12, 1990, the Council called a special City election to be held on <br />May 15, 1990, and submitted a measure authorizing a $183,450 tax <br />on ownership of real property in the Downtown Development District <br />to be voted upon by the voters of the City at that election. <br />C. Except for the dollar amount of the tax, this measure is <br />the same as the measure submitted to the voters at the May 17, 1988 <br />election for which a voter's pamphlet was prepared. <br />D. It would be more efficient and in the public interest to <br />utilize the explanatory statement published in the voter's pamphlet <br />for the May 17, 1988 election with the dollar amount amended} , for <br />the voter's pamphlet for the May 15, 1990 election than it would <br />be to follow the dictates of Section 2.995 of the Eugene Code, <br />1971. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1.
