<br />ORDINANCE NO. 20185 <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY <br />MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) FLOOD INSURANCE STUDY AND <br />FLOODWAY MAPS; AMENDING SECTION 9.603 OF THE EUGENE <br />CODE, 1971; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. <br /> Subsection (2) of Section 9.603 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is amended to <br />provide: <br />9.603 Special Flood Hazard Areas - Applicability. <br />(1) The provisions of sections 9.602 to 9.607 apply to all areas of special flood <br />hazards within the jurisdiction of the city. <br />(2) The areas of special flood hazard identified by the Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency in a scientific and engineering report entitled "The Flood Insurance Study for <br />Lane County, Oregon and Incorporated Areas," and associated Flood Insurance Rate Maps dated <br />June 2, 1999 are hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this code, and are on file in <br />the office of the city engineer. The city manager, or the managers designee may by administrative <br />= <br />order amend the June 2, 1999 Flood Insurance Rate Maps to reflect future amendments to the maps <br />effected by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> The City Recorder, at the request of, or with the concurrence of the City <br />Attorney, is authorized to administratively correct any reference errors contained herein or in other <br />provisions of the Eugene Code, 1971, to the provisions added, amended or repealed herein. <br />Section 3. <br /> That the matters contained herein concern the public health, welfare and safety and <br />therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall become effective <br />immediately upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor, retention by the Mayor <br />for more than ten days, or readoption over a Mayoral veto by two-thirds of all members of the City <br />Council. <br />Passed by the City Council this Approved by the Mayor this <br /> <br />24th day of January, 2000 24th day of January, 2000 <br /> <br /> <br /> /s/ Warren G.
