INTERVIEW CANDIDATES FOR BUDGET COMMITTEE <br /> <br />The council interviewed the following candidates for positions on the Human Rights Commission: Robert <br />Wiess, David Lottier, Rebecca Flyn, James Garcia, Matthew Johnson and Annette Leonard. All candidates <br />were asked the following questions: <br /> <br />1. Tell us why you want be a Human Rights Commissioner? <br /> <br />2. What is the City government’s role in addressing human rights? <br /> <br />3. What are the most important human rights issues facing the City of Eugene and what are your ideas <br />for addressing those? <br /> <br />4. We recognize that many people apply to serve on the Human Rights Commission because they are <br />passionate for a particular group or a specific issue. It is important that commissioners have the <br />ability to work on a range of human rights issues. Assess your ability to work with others on issues <br />that may not be your top concern. <br /> <br />5. Serving on the commission requires a significant time and energy commitment.
