MINUTES <br />Eugene City Council <br />McNutt Room —City Hall <br />777 Pearl Street—Eugene, Oregon <br />January 30, 2012 <br />5:30 p.m. <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: George Brown, Pat Farr, Betty Taylor, Andrea Ortiz, George Poling, <br />Alan Zelenka. <br />COUNCILORS ABSENT: Mike Clark, Chris Pryor. <br />A. BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS INTERVIEWS: <br />Toxics Board <br />Mr. Brown called the meeting of the Eugene City Council to order. The council interviewed Richard <br />Nicol for Position 3 (Industry) on the Eugene Toxics Board. Mr. Nichol was asked the following <br />questions: <br />1. To be a member on the business side, you must be employed by or be an agent of a company <br />required to report. Please tell us why you qual ify for board membership. <br />2. What is your understanding of the purposes of the City's Toxics Right -to -Know Program? <br />3. What is your understanding of how the program functions? <br />4. As a member of the Toxics Board, what improvements would you like to make? What <br />problems would you like to solve? <br />S. Do you feel that you can work effectively with the other members of the board, some of whose <br />viewpoints on certain issues might be diametrically opposed to yours?
