PUBLIC FORUM <br />• Regna Meritt, Portland, supported Resolution 5065, opposing transport of coal. <br />• Deb Frisch suggested the Register -Guard is a bad influence in our community. <br />• Lynn Anderson opposed coal transport citing declining property values and huge costs to taxpayers. <br />• Debra McGee opposed coal transport, citing health issues. <br />• Sally Crum opposed coal transport, citing health issues. <br />• Jim Olmsted opposed coal transport through Eugene. <br />• Mel Bankoff opposed coal trains, citing health and protecting the earth for youth. <br />• Laura Ohanian opposed coal transport citing environmental concerns. <br />• Paul Cosgrove, Portland, opposed some of the language of the bag ban; supported eliminating fee. <br />• B Rivers, opposed coal transport and wanted jobs discussions to happen - visioning session for jobs. <br />• Leroy Marney supported coal transport citing jobs needs. <br />• Jere Rosemeyer opposed coal transport, citing hazards, derailments, and risk. <br />• Brock Nelson, Union Pacific, supported transport of coal by train. <br />• Carla Hervert opposed coal transport through Eugene. <br />• Juan Carlos Valle opposed Deerbrook Development and coal transport; supported acquisition of <br />Amazon Headwater Lands. <br />• Benton Elliott opposed coal transport citing health and environmental concerns. <br />• Donald Burton opposed coal transport through Eugene. <br />• Sabra Marcroft, Ward 7, supported bag ban, citing environmental concerns. <br />• Greg Peden, Portland, NW Alliance of Exports, supported coal transport for job creation. <br />• Gordon Levitt, UO law student, opposed coal transport, citing health concerns. <br />• Kyle DeBord opposed transport of coal, noting extraction and export of 'pollution' is not good. <br />• Annski Williams Simrat opposed coal mining, use and transport, citing environmental concerns. <br />• Joe Tyndall opposed coal transport. <br />• Sarah Higginbotham, Environment Oregon, supported the plastic bag ban. <br />• Charlie Plybon supported the plastic bag ban, citing problems with plastic for future generations. <br />• Sage Fox, age 14, opposed coal transport, citing health and environmental concerns. <br />• Cameron Fox opposed coal transport, citing environmental concerns, safety issues and high risk. <br />MINUTES — Eugene City Council October 22, 2012 Page 1 <br />Regular Meeting <br />
