MINUTES <br />Eugene City Council Workshop <br />Sloat Room, 99 West 10 Avenue <br />Eugene, OR <br />December 4, 2012 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: George Brown, Pat Farr, Betty Taylor, Mike Clark, Chris Pryor, <br />Alan Zelenka, Claire Syrett <br />COUNCILORS ABSENT: George Poling <br />Staff present: Jon Ruiz, City Manager, Kristie Hammitt, Central Services Director, Mike Penwell, <br />Facility Management Division, Larry Hill, Finance Division, Jan Bohman, CMO, Laura Hammond, PDD, <br />Heidi Snyder, Central Services. <br />Mayor Piercy called the meeting to order and thanked staff for scheduling this council workshop in order <br />to keep the new City Hall discussion moving along. <br />Ms. Hammitt explained that the purpose of the workshop was to have a free - flowing conversation on the <br />subjective features of the City Hall options being considered. She said that tonight the council would review <br />the results of the City Hall Options Survey the councilors took prior to the workshop, and that Larry Hill <br />would facilitate the discussion. <br />Mr. Hill distributed the agenda and explained that the primary goal of the workshop was to allow all <br />councilors to share their thoughts on the City Hall options and project values and to advance the council's <br />thinking on selecting a location for the new City Hall. <br />Mr. Hill told the council that the staff had made wall posters displaying the Option Survey results for each <br />value and had the wall posters mounted on the walls for the Councilors' review. The wall posters showed <br />an array of dots which illustrated the extent to which the Councilors felt that each of the three options <br />(Existing Site /Rebuild; Existing Site /Build New; EWEB Site) reflected the project's values. The <br />Councilors reviewed the data and discussed the survey results for each of the project values and offered <br />their thoughts on the options as they related to the project values. <br />Mr. Hill said that the workshop provided the council with a better idea of each other's views.
