MINUTES <br />Eugene City Council <br />Sloat Conference Room - Atrium <br />99 West 10 Avenue — Eugene, Oregon <br />December 4, 2012 <br />5:30 p.m. <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: George Brown, Pat Farr, Betty Taylor, Claire Syrett, Mike Clark, Chris <br />Pryor. <br />COUNCILORS ABSENT: George Poling, Alan Zelenka <br />Her Honor Mayor Kitty Piercy called the December 4, 2012, meeting of the Eugene City Council to <br />order. <br />1. Interview Candidates for City Council Ward 6 Interim Appointment <br />The councilors interviewed Tony Brandt and Greg Evans for the anticipated vacancy on the Eugene <br />City Council caused by the pending resignation of Ward 6 City Councilor Pat Farr. <br />The following questions were asked: <br />Why do you want to be a member of the City Council? <br />How many hours are you willing to dedicate to your community serving as a City Councilor? <br />What current positions or obligations would you need to give up to serve on the council? <br />What do you see as the most pressing needs for the Eugene community and what would be <br />your top priority as a City Councilor? <br />Please describe instances or examples of times when you saw a need and provided leadership <br />to fill that need. <br />What committees would you be interested in serving on? <br />What actions would you advocate to ensure the long -term health (livability) of our <br />community? <br />Do you see any conflict between the interests of Ward 6 and the interests of the greater <br />community?
