A <br />W City Attorney's Office <br />Date; May 1, 2013 <br />To: Beth Forrest, City Recorder <br />From: Glenn Klein, City Attorne <br />Subject: Scrivener Error Correction EC 2.994(4) / Ordinance No. 20405 <br />Memorandum <br />It has come to our attention that a reference error exists in Ordinance No. 20405 that adopted <br />amendments to EC 2.994 on March 10, 2008. <br />EC 2.994(4) contains a reference to EC 2.966(1), however, the Code section reference should <br />have been to 2.996(1). Please effect a scrivener error correction to EC 2.994(4) to correct the <br />reference as shown in legislative format below: <br />2.994 Elections — Voters' Pamphlet - Contents <br />(4) The order in which the arguments related to a city measure are printed in the <br />voters' pamphlet shall be as follows: first, the written argument in favor of the city <br />measure, as described in subsection 2.996(1); second, the rebuttal to the <br />argument in favor, as described in subsection [29660]2.996(1); third, the <br />written argument in opposition to the measure, as described in subsection <br />2.996(1); fourth, the rebuttal to the argument in opposition, as described in <br />subsection 2.996(1); fifth, any additional arguments in favor of the city measure, <br />as described in subsection 2.996(4), in the order in which they are received by <br />the city recorder; and finally, any additional arguments in opposition to the <br />measure, as described in subsection 2.996(4), in the order in which they are <br />received by the city recorder. <br />This correction is authorized by Section 17 of Ordinance No. 20405, and a copy of this memo <br />should be attached to that Ordinance. <br />City of Eugene • 125 E. 8th Ave. • Eugene, OR 97401 • 541 - 682 -8447 • 541 - 682 -5414 Fax <br />www.eugene- or.gov <br />
