<br /> " " <br /> M I NUT E S <br /> e Eugene City Council <br /> August 13, 1980 <br /> Adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon, was called <br /> to order by His Honor Mayor Gus Keller at 11:30 a.m., August 13, 1980, in the <br /> City Council Chamber, with the following councilors present: Betty Smith, Scott <br /> Lieuallen, Brian Obie, Jack Delay, D. W. Hamel, Gretchen Miller, and Emily <br /> Sch ue . Councilor Eric Haws was absent. <br /> I. ITEMS FROM MAYOR & COUNCIL, APPOINTMENTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, AGENDA ADJUSTMENTS <br /> A. Goodpasture Island Road Floodplains Problem <br /> Mr. Obie stated that he had received a letter from Mr. Altucker <br /> regarding the floodplain problem on Goodpasture Island Road and <br /> he wonders if that may affect density plans. Mr. Henry stated that he <br /> has not received the letter but staff finds the floodplains unsatisfac- <br /> tory and they want to contact the other jurisdictions. Mr. Obie <br /> stated that he would like a memo outlining the steps the council is to <br /> take to ensure that the General Plan will develop the way that the <br /> council wants it to. Mr. Henry noted that a large section of Cottage <br /> e Grove is undevelopable because of a similar problem. <br /> B. Appointments to the Eugene Urban Renewal Agency <br /> Ms. Smith moved, seconded by Mr. Lieuallen, to appoint Joyce <br /> Slusher, 2750 Capital, to complete the unexpired term of Fran <br /> Gnose ending July 10, 1982; and Dustin Posner, 983 West 10th <br /> Avenue, to complete the unexpired term of Samuel Frear ending <br /> July 10, 1981; to the Eugene Urban Renewal Agency. Ro 11 call <br /> vote; motion carried unanimously. <br /> C. Blue and Gold Committee <br /> Mayor Keller announced the formation of a more comprehensive Better <br /> Eugene Committee. In the past, they have assisted the council in the <br /> passage of budget ballot measures. This enlarged committee will step <br /> forth whenever the council needs help dispersing information on <br /> various issues. Mary Hudzikiewicz has been chair of this committee <br /> and she can be contacted at 686-5555 by the public if they wish to <br /> join this committee.
