MINUTES <br />Eugene City Council <br />Harris Hall, 125 East 8th Avenue <br />Eugene, Oregon 97401 <br />February 10, 2014 <br />7:30 PM <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING: Harris Hall <br />Mayor Piercy convened the February 10, 2014 City Council meeting. <br />1. PUBLIC FORUM - 26 people signed up to speak <br />1. Leonard Epstein - Urged Council to preserve Amazon Headwaters & restore LRAPA funding. <br />2. David Saul - Urged Council to protect the Amazon Headwaters. <br />3. Julia Olson - Expressed concerns about climate Change; asked Council to pass ordinance. <br />4. Robin Cassidy -Duran - February 16 -22 is national stenographer /court reporter week. <br />5. Emily Heilbrun - Urged Council to please purchase Amazon Headwaters land. <br />6. Marli Miller - Noted the value of Amazon Headwaters; environmental area, education, etc. <br />7. John Koenig - Urged Council to please purchase and preserve Amazon Headwaters land. <br />8. Ethen Perkins - Urged Council to please purchase and preserve Amazon Headwaters land. <br />9. Tyson Stuber - Represented the Carpenters Union; expressed concerns about Capstone work. <br />10. Heather Sielicki - Urged Council to purchase and preserve the Amazon Headwaters land. <br />11. Debra McGee - Represented Occupy Interfaith; urged housing first model like Utah has. <br />12. Judy Berg - Urged Council to please purchase and preserve Amazon Headwaters land. <br />13. Melanie Letalik - Urged Council to please purchase and preserve Amazon Headwaters land. <br />14. Jennifer Yeh - RE: 955 Coburg Rd: a tentative agreement was reached. <br />15. Sue Prichard - RE: Single Family Code amendments; please preserve neighborhoods. <br />16. Sue Wolling - Expressed climate change concerns; she asked us to consider options. <br />17. Carolyn Jacobs - R1 code amendments need more attention. <br />18. Dean Hale - Expressed concerns about the Public Hearing process; asked for review. <br />19. Drix - He's happy to live in Eugene; offered ideas for Eugene Oregon bumper stickers. <br />20. Emily Fox - Researched Goal 5 requirements related to environmental areas /protection. <br />21. Dennis Hebert - He's happy the City voted to purchase Civic Stadium. <br />22. Aaron Noteboom - He represents Amber Benson and supports the negotiations underway. <br />23. Charlie Tebbutt - Urged Council to purchase and preserve the Amazon Headwaters land. <br />24. Sharon Blick - Urged Council to purchase and preserve the Amazon Headwaters land. <br />25. Bill Aspegren - He expressed concerns about the proposed R1 Code Amendments. <br />26. Michael Gannon - Urged Council to purchase and preserve the Amazon Headwaters land. <br />MOTION AND VOTE: Councilor Poling, seconded by Councilor Clark moved that we <br />schedule the work session on Initiating the Process to Amend Metro Plan Diagram for <br />955 Coburg Rd. no later than April 9, 2014. PASSED; 8:0. <br />Councilor Evans requested more information about the Capstone Project violations. The City <br />Manager indicated staff could provide some information about the types of violations and what is <br />being done to address them.
