ORDINANCE NO. 20524 <br />AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE SUNSET DATE OF THE PERMITTED <br />OVERNIGHT SLEEPING ( "REST STOP ") PILOT PROGRAM ADOPTED BY <br />ORDINANCE NO. 20517. <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds as follows: <br />A. On September 25, 2013, Ordinance No. 20517 was adopted concerning permitted <br />overnight sleeping. Section 3 of that Ordinance adopted a permitted overnight sleeping ( "rest <br />stop ") pilot program with a sunset date of March 31, 2014. <br />B. The opening of the first rest stop pilot site did not occur until December, 2013. In <br />order to have sufficient time to evaluate the pilot project, and then take action to extend, amend <br />or make permanent the pilot, the sunset date should be extended to October 1, 2014. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN that the rest stop pilot program adopted in <br />Section 3 of Ordinance No. 20517, shall sunset and be repealed on October 1, 2014, unless <br />extended or made permanent by future Council action. <br />Passed by the City Council this <br />24 day of February, 2014. <br />Approved by the Mayor this <br />5� day of February, 2014. <br />� +11 City Recorder <br />Mayor <br />Ordinance - Page 1 of 1 <br />
