ATTACHMENT C <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> <br /> Eugene City Council <br /> Interviews for Boards and Commissions <br /> McNutt Room--Eugene City Hall <br /> <br /> October 12, 2004 <br /> $:30 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: Bonny Bettman, George Poling, Scott Meisner, David Kelly, Betty <br /> Taylor, Gary Pap6. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS ABSENT: Nancy Nathanson, Jennifer Solomon. <br /> <br />Council President Bonny Bettman called the meeting of the Eugene City Council to order. <br /> <br />A. INTERVIEWS FOR BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br />The council interviewed candidates for positions on the Budget Committee, Planning Commission, and <br />Toxics Board. Candidates for the Budget Committee positions included John Demboski, Phillip <br />Hudspeth, Adrian Amen, and David Driskill. Candidates for the Planning Commission included Daniel <br />Herbert, Randall Hledik, and David Driskill. Candidates for the Toxics Board included Jennifer Gleason <br />and Dean Bautz. <br /> <br /> Ms. Bettman greeted each candidate in turn and informed them that the councilors who were unable to <br /> attend the meeting would listen to tapes of the interviews. <br /> <br /> All candidates for the Budget Committee positions were asked the following questions: <br /> <br /> 1. In your opinion, which issues shouM be given highest priority by the Budget Committee over the <br /> next four years? Which of these do you consider to be the most important issue, and why? <br /> <br /> 2. In the past few years, the Budget Committee has been required to make difficult funding choices <br /> that have resulted in the loss of services to citizens and the loss of jobs to employees. What fac- <br /> tors most influence you when faced with a difficult financial decision? <br /> <br /> 3. Do you have suggestions for ways to improve citizen understanding of the City 's financial condi- <br /> tions, budget priorities, and process? <br /> <br /> 4. Do you have any questions of us? Is there anything you 'd like to add? <br /> <br /> All candidates for the Planning Commission positions were asked the following questions: <br /> <br /> 1. Why did you apply for the Planning Commission and what do you hope to contribute?
