PLANNING COMMISSION CURRENT MEMBERS DESCRIPTION The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Council on adoption, revisisions, and updates to the Metropolitan General Plan, neighborhood refinement plans, special area studies, and other planning documents, as well as land use regulations and the capital improvement program. It helps guide the growth and development of the community. The Planning Commission also decides appeals from the Hearings Official on certain land use applications. MEMBERSHIP There are nine positions on the Planning Commission; seven at large citizen positions and two ex officio TERM Planning Commission members serve four year terms. APPOINTMENT The City Council appoints the citizen members; the City Manager appoints the two ex officio members.
