Staff toured the property and summarized a predevelopment meeting on <br />January 6, 2003, recommending that the Kaufman Senior'Center might be eligible for listing' as a <br />City of Eugene Historic Landmark. The Kaufman Senior Center remains in active use. The <br />applicant's representative has completed the requisite research, summarizing the applicable <br />criteria in the'submittal. The Kaufrnan Senior Center was designed by the local architect John <br />Hunzicker. <br /> <br />NOTICE <br /> <br />Owners and occupants within 500 fe~t of the subject Property were mailed notice of the <br />application and landmark designation heating on November 4, 2003. Referrals were forwarded to <br />relevant City staff and the Jefferson-Westside Neighborhood Group on November 5, 2003. <br />Elaine Barrett with the Kaufman Senior Center called to get more information about attending <br />the HRB meeting and voicing their positive thoughts on the proPosed designation. Steve <br />McQuire, Land Use Referral, submitted his response by stating that because there is no proposed <br />construction his office has no issue with the referral: Marilyn Odell, with the Jefferson-Westside <br />Neighborhood Group, requested copy of the application so that She could review and forward the <br />Kaufman Senior Center December 4, 2003 Page I <br /> <br /> 44. <br /> <br /> <br />
